Working Papers

Only papers accepted and presented at the AATI conferences need to be submitted.

• Deadline (for contributions related to the AATI@Siena Conference): October 31, 2015
• Language of contribution: Italian or English

Authors should follow these guidelines in preparing articles for submission:

• AATI does not accept previously published articles (print or online).
• Abstract of about 250 words.
• List of four or five keywords.
• Maximum length of the article is 3000 words.
• All pages should be double-spaced and have margins of about 1 inch.
• Only sources cited in the article should be listed in the references at the end of the article.
• The article should comply with MLA Style, in particular the citations of other authors and references.
• AATI publishes footnotes. We suggest you include information in footnotes as appropriate.
• A beginning statement should explain the state of the “work in progress” (initial idea, article draft, book project…)
• It is possible to include specific requests for feedback or express personal doubts or state loose ends to solicit colleagues’ feedback, preferably at the beginning.

Contributions on literature from any period or author are welcome, as are essays more directly pertaining to cultural studies and to pedagogy. They include, but are not limited to, the following topics:

• Does the topic reflect up-to-date principles, methods, and techniques in teaching Italian language and culture?
• Is the article well written and organized, with sufficient explanation to enable readers to apply the insights and recommendations in their classes with their own students (where applicable)?
• Does the article contribute new ideas and information to the field of Italian language teaching and the understanding of Italian culture?
• Are the ideas and information in the article contextualized (i.e. citation of other authors whose work is related to the topic)?
• Constructive comments and suggestions (starting at the review stage) are very important seen the nature of working papers.
