Awards
Annual Book Award
Authors must be members of the AATI two years prior to entry. Eligible are single-authored monographs that focus on any theme related to Italian Studies in English or Italian. In order to qualify in the competition, the first edition/printing of the books must have occurred within two years prior to the competition year (i.e. the 2024 competition is for books published from 2023-2024). Books may only be submitted once for consideration.
Distinguished Service
The Distinguished Service Award recognizes and further encourage the achievements and contributions of the members of the AATI for distinguished teaching and/or published research in the fields of Italian language, literature, and civilization. The now annual award, consisting of a plaque and lifetime membership, is presented under the auspices of the AATI Selection Committee at the Association’s annual convention. 2023-2024). Books may only be submitted once for consideration.
Honorary Membership
The AATI Honorary Membership (Socio Onorario) award recognizes individuals who have achieved international stature in the area of Italian studies, but who are not members of the AATI. The awardee receives honorary membership status in the AATI on the nomination by the Executive Council, subject to such limitation as may be stated in the By-laws. The award carries the waiver of the annual membership fee and has no term limit.
